What is inspiration? How can spiritual phenomena be at the heart of so many tragedies; or is it?
The tragedy of modern Western society, is a lack of true and free flowing inspiration; but let us look at what inspiration could possibly be described as; and what the inspired human being is facing today...:
H.G. Wells told a story once; about a man who on an expedition stumbled over an old society of blind people. They were born without eyes due to a genetic disorder and had over decades become used to not seeing. They moved and acted in a more secure way than the outsider did, to his surprise. He got caught and upon examination they decided he was insane. They also found the reason for the mans insanity; the strange objects in the 'holes' in the mans forehead. For his own well being they decided to remove the objects, and what the man himself had to say about it paid no attention to; after all who listens to and takes advice from a crazy person?
The story is valid as a metaphor for how bad the conditions are for true inspiration in today's society where all that matters must be measurable and tangible. The inspired mind is like a plant only having moonlight to grow in...Poor are the conditions, and worse are the consequences for those who insists on holding on to their inspired humanity.
Our modern society is made for the cold and not inspired human being. For people denying their inner with-born values who punishes those not being obedient. The extreme 'solution' will look both attractive and the only solution to many.
In the Western part of the world the suppression of our minds happens in a more subtle way, but it happens all the same. The Brave New World is long upon us. Chemical lobotomy is part of daily life and medical 'treatments' of anxiety and other natural and obvious reactions to being denied a full and inspired life and mind.
Refusal to be 'treated' and 'cured'; will in most cases lead to punishment, one way or another.
Prolog
Hi, and welcome to my 'Philosophy of The Underground' blog.
The purpose of this blog is to encourage and inspire the mind; not to portray an unshakable alternative to already existing paradigm's and established 'truths'.
In these stressful times where there's no longer much time for contemplation and asking questions about
how the world came to be as it is, and it is almost a 'no go' and something we even in a free democracy are not encouraged to do nor think about; an inspired mind is indeed something worth contemplating and there's many questions to be asked...
This blog's intent is to be a place for just these thoughts...
I wish to offer a forum for not only like-minded people, but a forum where established truths of both the past and present will be questioned, and even more a place that celebrates the power of the free mind.
There are no political motives, only the quest for truth, enlightenment and the most profound respect for the journey of the mind...
